NORTH ADAMS, MA – The Fine and Performing Arts Department at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) will present “George Washington Slept Here” by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, as this spring’s major theater production, March 5-8, at 8 p.m. in the Venable Theatre on the College campus.
A classic American madcap comedy by the playwriting team who wrote “You Can’t Take it With You” and “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” “George Washington Slept Here” tells the story of a family who buy an old house in the country, only to have calamity befall them at every turn. Everything that can go wrong does go wrong.
This production, which features a cast of 21 students, is directed by Professor Bonnie Bishoff, with costume design by Dawn Shamburger, assistant professor. The production’s design and technical direction are by Andrew Hoar.
