"MCLA not only gave me a great education in the classroom, it also gave me a chance to learn outside of the classroom. Whether it was on the baseball field, in the community, or working with different clubs and organizations MCLA gave me the chance to grow as a person. I use both my classroom and non-classroom education every day that I’m at work. I have to learn in every situation that presents itself, day after day. The meetings I attend are just like the small classroom settings at MCLA and allow me to feel comfortable. I prepare for those meetings just like I did for a test or a baseball practice. MCLA made me a better person. I feel more confident as a person with my MCLA degree."

"In Depth With Our Sport Seniors" - Derek Gibbons (Beacon Sports Editor)

MCLA has a long tradition and history of athletic success. A member of the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference affiliated with the NCAA’s Division III, the College’s commitment to its athletic program is also reflected in its campaign of continuous improvement, including renovated athletic facilities and the Athletic Department’s recruiting of a solid line of coaches. The College and its Athletic Department are committed to fielding competitive athletic teams while maintaining a balance between strong athletics and strong academics. In addition, student-athletes may participate in a variety of leadership opportunities. MCLA student-athletes and athletic staff were involved in over 1000 hours of community service, and a number of students interested in sports-related careers have served internships in sports management, sports information and in our intramural program.
