March
2005

These pictures were taken on March 15, 2005 showing the demolition progress in Murdock Hall.  I only received one email response concerning the archway picture from the last set.  I am still not sure why that decorative arch was in the middle of the lower level but I am sure it is not the tunnel to Taconic Hall.  The tunnel opening is on the south side of the building.

This series of pictures show various temporary supports throughout the building.  In some of the shots you can see replacement steel beams. The picture with the blue wall (tv studio) shows that the second floor entry and hallway will be wider.

A worker (unseen) is pushing brick from the top of the doorway cutout into the wheelbarrow.

These pictures show how the brick was placed to create heat channels in the wall of the building

This is the backside of a room heating vent

Just below the vent Ron Salice the DCAM project manager shows the sophisticated damper that controls the heat going to the vent.

These pictures show the third floor at the south end of the building. Layers of old ceiling have been removed but the floor still shows the outline of offices.

The ceilings from the second floor are down but not out

Not many clues here but where was this picture taken.
