"Transferring to MCLA was one of the greatest decisions I ever made. Being able to learn from and connect with the faculty and staff equipped me with greater networking capabilities/skills and the opportunity to use them outside of the institution, preparing me for the road ahead. Taking part and engaging in different clubs and organizations on campus helped to shape and guide me for countless opportunities."

The 11th Undergraduate Conference was held on April 25th at UMass/Boston, and the 12th conference will be held in Spring, 2006. National College Honors Council National Conference, 2004
Every fall, the National Collegiate Honors Council -- a national organization of honors programs to which MCLA belongs -- holds its national conference, and MCLA encourages students to attend and to make presentations there. The college tries to subsidize students who are making presentations, and otherwise defray their expenses as necessary.
"Gateway to Exploration and Discovery," the 2005 annual conference, will be held in St. Louis, Missouri, October 26-30. Click on the preceding link for further information.
All student research presentations will be in poster-session format. So, give some thought to a research projects you have undertaken that concentrate on the gateway to discovery.
Students who with to apply to make presentations should contact Prof. Langston as soon as possible about the range of topics for the conference.... or you may visit the website below.
Organized by the NCHC, an Honors semester allows Honor students from
throughout the United State to gather for learning experiences away
from their own campus. NCHC semesters offer a full load of
transferable college credit and combine field studies, research,
internships, seminars and a carefully planned living-learning
environment that fully exploits the resources of the semester's
locale.
The conference for the Northeast Regional Honors organization is held each spring, and the MCLA frequently sponsors students to these meetings. In 2003, when the conference was held in Gettysburg, PA, several MCLA students gave a presentation on the Berkshire County regiment that was present at the battle.
Contact Prof. Langston if you have an interest in attending that conference. Prof. Langston will be circulating invitations to give presentations as soon as the call-for-presentations appears.
