Can I major in Spanish at MCLA?
The answer is: yes! Students interested in making Spanish their chosen subject of study, can incorporate it within a Interdisciplinary Studies major with a concentration in Modern Languages. Such a course of studies can be combined with disciplines such as Sociology, Business Administration and/or Economics, History, English/Communications, Fine and Performing Arts as well as with a Teaching Certification program. The requirements are the same as for any Interdisciplinary Studies concentration: a maximum of 12 credits of lower division courses (in Spanish and/or another language) and a maximum of 18 credits of upper division courses. Study abroad is highly recommended for students who wish to undertake this type of program. For further information, please contact Prof. Graziana Ramsden at gramsden@mcla.edu or at (413) 662 5399.
