"Transferring to MCLA was one of the greatest decisions I ever made. Being able to learn from and connect with the faculty and staff equipped me with greater networking capabilities/skills and the opportunity to use them outside of the institution, preparing me for the road ahead. Taking part and engaging in different clubs and organizations on campus helped to shape and guide me for countless opportunities."

Happy Spring - No Foolin'! I hope your semester continues to go well. Seems like we weathered the transition to First Class rather well - hope you are finding it useful and user-friendly!

Thinking of a concentration, but not sure you should declare it? If you are relatively sure you would like to pursue a particular concentration, I encourage you to declare it. If you find later that you're probably not going to be able to complete it, you can always change it to another concentration or complete the general program. If we aren't aware of your interest because you haven't declared it, we may not know how often we need to offer the courses in the concentration to meet your needs!

Graduating Seniors - did you catch the announcement that Senator Edward Kennedy is our keynote speaker for Commencement? Pretty impressive, don't you think?

Alumni News! I've had some great news about alums! In February Christina Barrett ('03) competed in the Berkshire BPW Young Careerist competition against two other amazing young career women - and won! She is competing in the District competition in today - April 1st. As 2nd VP of the organization, I was lucky to be there to hear her wonderful presentation - she did MCLA and the Department proud!

Last month was Alum Central at the Chamber Nite at the new Interprint facility in Pittsfield. I saw David Robbins ('03), Chris Gregory ('95), Tonia Scalise ('88), Mike Marchand ('98), and Linda Sou ('05)! (Linda is a Sociology grad, but after entering the world of work they are all majoring in business!). Mike is an account manager at Interprint, so if you produce a Formica-like material and need designs for it, Mike is the person to see. The Interprint facility is a modern manufacturing marvel, and one of the few 21st century manufacturing success stories in Massachusetts. Check out their website if you like!

Summer Internships are being posted. Check out Career Services Internship Postings. Also MASS MoCA has announced their internships for the summer as well - click here for that listing.

Happy April Fools!
