Application

An innovative leadership program designed by MCLA to provide educators an opportunity to gain administrative licensure in less than 12 months while working full time, and with no residential requirements.

This program benefits educators who have a minimum of three years of K-12 teaching experience and/or any school administrator who is seeking Educational Administration Licensure.

 A Master's degree is not required for this program and the courses may be used toward a Master's degree or the CAGS Program.  This program may be cancelled if registration numbers do not meet college requirements for minimum class size.

This Program will be offered to a cohort of not more than 25 educators. Applicants must be recommended by their building principal and are expected to complete the entire program of 30 credits in one academic year. Instructors will be selected from MCLA faculty and Berkshire County administrators. Each applicant must identify a mentor/on-site supervisor who will be willing to oversee the 300-hour, spring semester internship. Mentors must have worked in an administrative role, under an administration license for at least three years and must complete an application form. MCLA will provide college supervision for candidates.

Of the seven courses that comprise the program, five will be offered during the school year on a monthly schedule. Two courses will be offered during the MCLA summer session.  The weekend schdule is: Friday 4:30pm-9:30pm, Saturday 8:30am-5:45pm, Sunday 8:30am-5:45 pm. The Administrative Practicum will be a semester-long experience to run concurrently with coursework scheduled in the spring. Total licensure requirements: 7 courses, 3 Prepractica, 1 Admin. Practicum = 30 credit hours Program Costs: 30 credit hours@ $215 per cr/hr = $6450, which does not include books. Payment plan available.
