CWMARS Libraries: MCLA’s Freel Library belongs to a consortium of libraries called Central/Western Massachusetts Resource Sharing and we all share an online catalog of our holdings. You may use your card to borrow books from other member libraries or through the catalog system itself. Materials you request through the catalog will be delivered to Freel Library and you will be notified of their arrival. To search all CWMARS member libraries simultaneously, go to this link: http://cwinn.cwmars.org/search/
Massachusetts Virtual Catalog: Your CWMARS library card (college ID) allows you to borrow books online from member libraries from across the state. Materials you request through the catalog will be delivered to Freel Library and you will be notified of their arrival. A list of member libraries and the login page can be found at: http://www.cwmars.org/vcat/.
Williams College: MCLA students who wish to borrow books from the Williams College libraries need to speak to an MCLA reference librarian for permission. MCLA faculty need only to present their MCLA ID to borrow books from Williams and do not need prior authorization from an MCLA reference librarian. http://francis.williams.edu
UMASS/Amherst: Please check their web site for current policies: http://www.library.umass.edu/services/borrowing/index.html
InterLibrary Loan: We can borrow research materials from libraries across the country for MCLA faculty, students and staff. Please speak with a reference librarian if you need to use this service. Not all items can be borrowed. Dissertation, videos, reference materials and rare books may be impossible to borrow. Required course texts (textbooks) cannot be borrowed. Please allow up to two weeks for the successful completion of an ILL request. |
